The Science Behind the Family Tree — Continuing the Journey

We were truly amazed while reading about our ancestor, Mr. Velluppillai.

But really, we wonder…

Where did you inherit the gene that makes you a role model for so many great people in this wonderful meadow of life?”

“What’s that? I don’t understand, Peter!”

“Whenever we see you feeding hundreds of crows, countless beautiful pigeons, and even desperate dogs and cats…”

“Ohhhh, I see…!”

“And we are astonished to witness a few more people beginning to do the same thing after seeing you!”

“That’s quite normal. They are simply interested, inspired, and encouraged—especially the children.”

“Shall we continue exploring the family tree and discover the science behind it? 🌳”

“No worries… one, two, three… let’s continue!”

Being a healthy, wealthy, and handsome young man from an aristocratic family, Mr. Velluppillai was eventually approached with a marriage proposal from a wealthy and respected family.

Their beautiful daughter was well educated and came from distinguished parents.

In 1859, they were blessed with a beautiful princess, whom they named Nagamuthupillai, traditionally following the customs and culture of their family.

In 1891, Nagamuthupillai married Mr. S. Sellaiyapillai, the son of another wealthy and highly respected gentleman, Mr. Sellaiyapillai, who was known as a generous man of high social standing.

The young couple lived in a lovely and prestigious location, in a magnificent mansion where Mr. Velluppillai himself had lived.

It was in Kandarmadam.

Mr. and Mrs. Velluppillai wished their beloved princess to live in surroundings worthy of a queen and king—a home that reflected not merely wealth, but dignity, generosity, and devotion.

And the way they lived was truly exceptional.

In front of their magnificent mansion, they built a beautiful shelter where devotional service could be offered to people passing through their gate.

Devotees and travellers were welcomed with delicious food and refreshing drinks, particularly during the festive seasons associated with the Nallur Temple.

Their wealth was therefore not simply something they possessed.

It became something they shared.

And perhaps that is where the mysterious “gene” begins to reveal itself… 🧬

In 1892, this loving and prosperous couple were blessed with a beautiful son, whom they named Sathasivampillai.

Ohhhh, goodness!

He became the sole heir to the substantial assets of his grandfather, Mr. Velluppillai.

The family’s wealth was remarkable.

He inherited around fifty shops, in addition to houses, lands, and properties held through mortgages.

At a time when gold was valued at only around ten rupees, the wealth accumulated by Mr. Velluppillai represented an enormous fortune in both money and land.

Remarkably, the influence of Mr. Velluppillai’s wealth and legacy continued through nearly six generations.

But what makes this family tree truly fascinating is not merely the wealth that was inherited.

It was the way of life that accompanied it.

Generation after generation became inspired by, and followed as role models, some of the greatest personalities of their time.

Among them were:

Sri Arumuga Navalar (1822–1879),

Sir Ponnambalam Ramanathan (1851–1930),

and

Sir Ponnambalam Arunachalam (1853–1924).

These were people whose lives represented learning, service, leadership, culture, and devotion.

குடும்ப மரத்தின் பின்னால் மறைந்திருக்கும் விஞ்ஞானம் — தொடர்ச்சி

நமது மூதாதையரான திரு. வெள்ளுப்பிள்ளை அவர்களைப் பற்றி வாசித்தபோது நாங்கள் உண்மையிலேயே ஆச்சரியமடைந்தோம்.

ஆனால் உண்மையாகவே ஒரு கேள்வி எழுகிறது…

இந்த அற்புதமான வாழ்க்கைப் புல்வெளியில் 🌿 பல சிறந்த மனிதர்களுக்கு முன்மாதிரியாகத் திகழும் அந்தப் பண்பு கொண்ட ‘மரபணுவை’ 🧬 நீங்கள் எங்கிருந்து பெற்றீர்கள்?”**

“என்ன சொல்கிறீர்கள்? எனக்குப் புரியவில்லையே, பீட்டர்!”

“நூற்றுக்கணக்கான காகங்களுக்கும், எண்ணற்ற அழகிய புறாக்களுக்கும், பசியால் தவிக்கும் நாய்கள் மற்றும் பூனைகளுக்கும் நீங்கள் உணவளிப்பதைப் பார்க்கும்போது…”

“ஓஹ்ஹ்ஹ்… இப்போது புரிகிறது…!!!”

“அதுமட்டுமல்ல… உங்களைப் பார்த்து இன்னும் சிலரும் அதேபோல் செய்யத் தொடங்கியிருப்பதைக் காணும்போது நாங்கள் மிகவும் வியப்படைகிறோம்!”

“அது இயல்புதானே. அவர்கள் ஆர்வம் கொண்டு, உங்களால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு, குறிப்பாக குழந்தைகள் உங்களிடமிருந்து ஊக்கம் பெறுகிறார்கள்.”

“அப்படியானால்… இந்தக் குடும்ப மரத்தை 🌳 தொடர்ந்து ஆராய்ந்து, அதன் பின்னால் மறைந்திருக்கும் அந்த விஞ்ஞானத்தை நாம் கண்டுபிடிக்கலாமா?”

“கவலை வேண்டாம்… ஒன்று… இரண்டு… மூன்று… தொடங்குவோம்!”

ஆரோக்கியமும், செல்வமும், அழகும் கொண்ட ஓர் உயர்ந்த குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த இளம் மனிதராக திரு. வெள்ளுப்பிள்ளை அவர்கள் விளங்கினார்.

ஒரு காலத்தில், செல்வமும் மதிப்பும் மிக்க ஒரு குடும்பத்திலிருந்து அவருக்கு திருமணத் தொடர்பு வந்தது.

அந்தக் குடும்பத்தின் அழகிய மகள் நல்ல கல்வியறிவு பெற்றவராகவும், சிறந்த பண்புகளைக் கொண்ட பெற்றோரின் அன்பு மகளாகவும் விளங்கினார்.

1859ஆம் ஆண்டு, அந்தக் குடும்பத்தில் ஓர் அழகிய பெண் குழந்தை பிறந்தாள்.

அவளுக்கு அவர்களுடைய குடும்பப் பாரம்பரியத்திற்கும் பண்பாட்டிற்கும் ஏற்ப நாகமுத்துப்பிள்ளை என்று பெயர் சூட்டினர்.

1891ஆம் ஆண்டு, நாகமுத்துப்பிள்ளை அவர்கள், மற்றொரு செல்வமும் மதிப்பும் மிக்க குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்த திரு. S. செல்லையாப்பிள்ளை அவர்களைத் திருமணம் செய்துகொண்டார்.

அவர் உயர்ந்த சமூக மரியாதையும், தாராள மனமும் கொண்ட திரு. செல்லையாப்பிள்ளை அவர்களின் மகனாவார்.

இந்த இளம் தம்பதியினர், திரு. வெள்ளுப்பிள்ளை அவர்கள் வாழ்ந்திருந்த அழகிய இடத்தில் அமைந்திருந்த ஒரு பிரமாண்டமான மாளிகையில் வாழ்ந்தனர்.

அது கந்தர்மடம்.

தங்கள் அன்பு மகள் ஒரு ராணியைப் போலவும், அவளது இல்லம் ஒரு அரண்மனையைப் போலவும் இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று திரு. மற்றும் திருமதி வெள்ளுப்பிள்ளை அவர்கள் விரும்பினர்.

ஆனால் அவர்களின் வாழ்க்கையின் சிறப்பு செல்வச் செழிப்பில் மட்டும் இருக்கவில்லை.

அவர்களின் தாராள மனத்திலும், பக்தியிலும், சேவை உணர்விலும் அது வெளிப்பட்டது.

அவர்களுடைய பிரமாண்டமான மாளிகையின் முன்பாக, வழியாகச் செல்லும் பக்தர்களுக்கும் பயணிகளுக்கும் அன்புடன் உணவும் பானமும் வழங்குவதற்காக ஓர் அழகிய நிழற்குடை அமைக்கப்பட்டது.

குறிப்பாக நல்லூர் ஆலயத்தின் திருவிழாக் காலங்களில், அவர்களுடைய இல்லத்தின் வாயிலைக் கடந்து செல்லும் பக்தர்களுக்கு சுவையான உணவும், புத்துணர்ச்சி தரும் பானங்களும் அன்புடன் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

அவர்களுடைய செல்வம் வெறுமனே அவர்களிடம் இருந்த செல்வமாக இருக்கவில்லை.

அது பிறருடன் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளப்பட்ட செல்வமாக மாறியது.

அப்படியானால்…

ஒருவேளை நாம் தேடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் அந்த மர்மமான “மரபணு” 🧬 இங்கிருந்துதான் தனது முதல் தடத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறதோ…?

1892ஆம் ஆண்டு, இந்த அன்பும் செல்வச் செழிப்பும் கொண்ட தம்பதியினருக்கு ஓர் அழகிய ஆண் குழந்தை பிறந்தான்.

அவனுக்கு சதாசிவம்பிள்ளை என்று பெயரிட்டனர்.

ஓஹ்ஹ்ஹ்… இறைவா!

அவன் தனது தாத்தாவான திரு. வெள்ளுப்பிள்ளை அவர்களின் பெரும் சொத்துக்களுக்கு ஒரே வாரிசாக ஆனான்.

அந்தக் குடும்பத்தின் செல்வம் உண்மையிலேயே வியப்பூட்டுவதாக இருந்தது.

சுமார் ஐம்பது கடைகள், அதற்கு மேலாக வீடுகள், நிலங்கள் மற்றும் அடமானச் சொத்துக்கள் எனப் பெரும் சொத்துக்கள் அவருக்குக் கிடைத்தன.

அந்தக் காலத்தில் தங்கத்தின் விலை சுமார் பத்து ரூபாய் மட்டுமே இருந்த நிலையில், திரு. வெள்ளுப்பிள்ளை அவர்கள் சேர்த்திருந்த பணமும் நிலங்களும் அளவிட முடியாத அளவிற்கு பெரும் செல்வமாக இருந்தன.

ஆச்சரியமாக, திரு. வெள்ளுப்பிள்ளை அவர்களின் செல்வமும், அவருடைய வாழ்க்கை முறையும் ஏறத்தாழ ஆறு தலைமுறைகள் வரை தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தின.

ஆனால் இந்தக் குடும்ப மரத்தை உண்மையிலேயே சுவாரஸ்யமாக்குவது வெறுமனே தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாகச் சென்ற செல்வம் அல்ல.

அதனுடன் தொடர்ந்து வந்த வாழ்க்கை முறைதான்.

தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக, அந்தக் குடும்பத்தினர் தங்கள் காலத்தின் சிறந்த மனிதர்களை முன்மாதிரிகளாகக் கொண்டு, அவர்களுடைய வாழ்க்கையிலிருந்து ஊக்கமும் வழிகாட்டுதலும் பெற்றனர்.

அவர்களில் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கவர்கள்:

ஸ்ரீ ஆறுமுக நாவலர் (1822–1879),

சர் பொன்னம்பலம் இராமநாதன் (1851–1930),

மற்றும்

சர் பொன்னம்பலம் அருணாசலம் (1853–1924).

அவர்கள் கல்வி, சேவை, தலைமைத்துவம், பண்பாடு மற்றும் ஆன்மிகப் பற்றின் மூலம் தங்கள் காலத்திற்குச் சிறந்த முன்னுதாரணங்களாக விளங்கியவர்கள்.

அது தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாகப் பரிமாறப்பட்ட ஒரு வாழ்க்கை முறையாக இருக்கலாம்.

தாராள மனம், கல்வி, சேவை, பக்தி, மற்றும் சிறந்த ஆன்மாக்களை முன்மாதிரிகளாகக் கொண்டு வாழும் பண்பு—இவையே அந்த மரபின் உண்மையான அடையாளங்களாக இருக்கலாம்.”**

“ஆனால்… ஒரு நிமிடம்…”

“இந்த மர்மமான மரபணுவின் பின்னால் உண்மையில் யார் அனைத்தையும் இயக்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்?”
