ஒரு காலத்தில், ஒரு அரசன் தன் நாட்டை நடத்த நல்ல அமைச்சர்களை கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியாமல் தவித்தார். அவர் பக்தியுள்ள அரசனாக இருந்ததால் இறைவனிடம் வழிகாட்டுதலை வேண்டினார்.

God responded, “Very well. I will send you a servant, but I will also give you a naming: If you don’t keep him busy, he will destroy you…”

இறைவன் பதிலளித்தார்: “சரி. உனக்கு ஒரு ஊழியனை அனுப்புவேன். ஆனால் ஒரு எச்சரிக்கை கொடுக்கிறேன்: அவனை வேலைக்குள் பிஸியாக வைத்திருக்காவிட்டால், அவன் உன்னை அழித்துவிடுவான்…”

Nevertheless, the servant came, and he was extremely efficient. Before long. he had almost accomplished every task in the entire kingdom!

ஆனால், ஊழியன் வந்தான். அவன் மிகவும் திறமையானவன். சில காலத்தில், அவன் இராச்சியத்தின் அனைத்து வேலைகளையும் முடித்துவிட்டான்!

When he finishes building the wall, ask him to climb to the top of the wall, and then back to the bottom…. Keep repeating this until you have another job.”

இறைவன் புன்னகையுடன் சொன்னார்: “சரி, மீண்டும் உன்னை காப்பாற்றுகிறேன். அந்த ஊழியனிடம் இருபது அடி உயரமான சுவரை கட்டச் சொல்லு. அவன் வேலை முடிக்கும்போதே, உடனே அவனுக்கு மற்றொரு வேலையை கொடு. சுவர் முடிந்ததும், அவனை மேலே ஏறச் சொல்லு, பின் கீழே இறங்கச் சொல்லு. இப்படியே அவனை பிஸியாக வைத்துக்கொள்.”

“Now think of the wall as the names of the gods, and the servant is the mind of a human. If you do not keep the mind busy in reciting the mantra, it will destroy you or anyone. The mantra is a mighty miraculous medicine towards achieving self-realization and self-satisfaction. Animals can’t do it, but man can. This is the main difference between men and animals.

இப்போது அந்த சுவர் என்பதை கடவுளின் நாமங்கள் என்று நினை. அந்த ஊழியன் என்பது மனித மனம். மந்திரம் உச்சரிப்பதன் மூலம் மனதை பிஸியாக வைத்திருக்காவிட்டால், அது உன்னை அழித்துவிடும். மந்திரம் என்பது மனிதனை சுய அறிவும் திருப்தியும் அடையச் செய்யும் அற்புதமான மருந்து. மிருகங்களுக்கு இது சாத்தியமில்லை; ஆனால் மனிதனுக்கு முடியும். இதுவே மனிதன் மற்றும் மிருகம் இடையிலான வேறுபாடு.
